Winston | No CommentsWith my bass; Pride & Joy being stolen last night from my car i have chosen this time to reflect on why i worked day and night to buy those four strings of joy. Bernard Edwards from Chic changed my life, let him change yours. CHIC – Chic Cheer (Bernard Edwards 1984 remix)
LCD Soundsystem are one of my favourite bands ever. I kind of want James Murphy to be my best friend he seems like an insanely cool guy. I remember him saying at Big Day Out ” I should really say something rock and roll like … is it cold out here cause its a snowstorm backstage… cause of the cocaine”. This might have been funnier if you were there.
Their new track is a cover of Alan Vega of Suicide.

Future Classic is one of the coolest labels in Australia. Not only did they recently release our man Sidwho?’s single Millionaire on their Apres 3 12″ they have also released the Loin Brothers’ Heavy Helmet.
They have recently released Jamie Lloyd’s album Beware the Light which is a bit of a slow burner for me but I am finally really enjoy it. It sounds a bit like Get Physical’s Booka Shade style electro house. A bit of a puzzle but it works well.

A new favourite of the club, Holy Ghost add their touch to Datarock’s The Pretender.
The magic duo strip the vocal and guitar tracks, leave the chorus and add computer aided vocals for the verses, leaving the track sounding fuller and flowing much better than the original.
Highly recommended by all at the club.
Kenan | No CommentsThe recent return of Disco has been generating great new labels, producers, and DJs over the last decade, in turn a number of these new artists are turning their work into live acts.
While some of our favourites such as LCD Soundsystem, Woofly and The Swiss among other disco outfits have been playing live shows for some time, not to mention classic adult acts who played their last show many moons ago, two of our favourite new Producer DJs are making the move into live shows. Australia’s own Canyons recently revealed in an interview that they are planning a live show for next year along with their release of their debut album and New York City favourites Holy Ghost posted on their own blog that they are rehearsing their new live show with the great Classsixx.
It all makes for an interesting new year and one that will most definitely not let down.

Winston: How did the Gallery begin?
Nicky Siano: It began out of the passion to want to provide a place … I wanted a place that really blew my mind. The only way to do that was build something that I had in my head that I thought when I am dancing. It was really about pleasing me more than anything.
Winston: It’s the type of thing where if you are having a good time everyone else is
Nicky Siano: Exactly
Winston: What was your fist inclining of the disco craze beginning?
Winston | 2 CommentsLightspeed Recordings is a an amazing record label started by Adelaide’s prodigal son – Agent 86. Recently their Late Night Tough Guy Edits EP shot to the top of the Juno disco charts. We chat about the label, edits and the early Adelaide house scene.
Winston: How did Lightspeed records begin?
Agent 86: I was running a few parties last year, that were new disco orientated and I guess I was kind of moving in that direction as a DJ for a while. My productions were also on that disco tip. After doing a few parties I thought maybe I could expand it by putting out my own music. After talking to a few people it seemed like a good idea to make a label to put out any sort of music that I really dig. It’s on the disco tip at the moment, like everything that I do it’s not limited to one genre. For the time being the disco scene is probably what I’m feeling and that’s the direction that Lightspeed will be taking for the immediate future.
W: How did you get HMC (AKA Late Night Tough Guy) involved?
A: I DJed with him back in Adelaide in the 1990s, we have been friends ever since. It was really just a matter of having a chat to him; he was producing and doing edits and when I told him about my plans for Lightspeed he was really into it.
W: On the subjects of edits is it hard to put them out do you need to clear them? Read the rest of this entry »
